TALAL A ALSAYEGH Head of AML Section, Central bank of Kuwait (CBK), drafts rules and regulations to enhance financial and banking units’ capabilities in AML/CFT, analyzes and examines suspicious transaction reports presented to Kuwaiti Financial Intelligence Unit, coordinates with international bodies

MUHAMMAD BAASIRI  Secretary of the Special Investigation Commission for fighting money laundering (FIU of Lebanon); played a role in providing the impetus to re-activate the MENAFATF; previously an IMF resident advisor for the Central Bank of Oman and a CPA with the accounting firms of Deloitte and Arthur Andersen. Muhammad was also the chairman of the Banking Control Commission of Lebanon and a chief executive officer of private companies in the field of banking and finance. He is a lecturer at the American University of Beirut as well.

MARY BHAWNANI Executive Director, Regional Anti-Money Laundering Officer, EMEA, ABN AMRO; previously EMEA & UK Money Laundering Reporting Officer at Bank of America, responsible for setting standards in the EMEA region taking into account the European landscape of regulatory expectations and the Corporate Compliance AML Policy Manual

ROWAN BOSWORTH-DAVIES Director, Money Laundering & Fraud Solutions, SAS EMEA; former Fraud Squad detective at New Scotland Yard, provides education and consulting services in the field of fraud prevention and anti-money laundering awareness programmes. Author of a several anti-white collar crime books

ALBERT CLUCKERS - Head of Inspection Division and Global Compliance Officer for ING Group South West Europe; responsible for the ING AML strategy and development in South West Europe (Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Italy) and manages the ING European AML Investigation Teams. He is also a professor at the University in Brussels and he coordinates for ING the implementation of AML software.

CHARLES A. INTRIAGO Former U.S. prosecutor and congressional committee counsel, founder of Money Laundering Alert; formerly a Miami lawyer, he served as chief counsel to a U.S. House subcommittee that oversaw all federal agencies involved in the money laundering effort, and served as an assistant U.S. attorney in Florida and as special counsel on organized crime to the Governor of Florida

JOSEF MAHR  Head of the Austrian Financial Intelligence/Investigative Unit, since its establishment in 1994; formerly a criminal intelligence investigator with the Economic Police in Vienna. He is also a court appointed expert for economic crimes, an independent management consultant, and adjunct lecturer at the Economic University in Vienna.

PATRIC MARSHALL  Director of Sales, EMEA of World-Check, a product of Global Objectives Ltd, United Kingdom. World-Check provides KYC intelligence to more than 600 banking institutions in 65 countries and some 170 regulatory authorities. Previously he served in the Southern District of Florida as Chief of the Criminal Division, Chief of the Major Prosecutions and Violent Crimes Section, and Deputy Chief of the Economic Crimes Section. Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Mr. Sabin was a litigation associate at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan’s New York office.

DELPHINE SCHANTZ Money Laundering Adviser for the Global Programme against Money Laundering (GPML) of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), manages the anti-money laundering international database (AMLID) administered by GPML on behalf of eight international organizations

THOMAS SCHELMBAUER  Head of Internal Audit of Anglo Irish Bank Group in Austria (Private Bank), since 2000. Worked in the internal audit department in former Creditanstalt AG, now Bank Austria-Creditanstalt AG. Member of the Senior Management Forum and the Legal Committee of Anglo Irish Bank and has participated in a number of compliance related projects. He has also founded compliance workshops for small and private banks in Austria in cooperation with the Austrian Bankers Association.
