FDIC Fines Pennsylvania Bank $1.5 Million for BSA Violations

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. fined a Pennsylvania bank $1.5 million for anti-money laundering violations related to 2009 and 2010 exam findings, the institution disclosed in a regulatory filing Tuesday. In a Form 8-K, Harrisburg-based Metro Bank said that it would pay the FDIC because of unnamed Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) problems and issues related to how it complied with orders laid out in August 2009 and October 2010 exam reports by the agency and the Pennsylvania Department of Banking.
