IRS-CI Chief Tenders Resignation

The head of the U.S. tax agency's criminal investigation division for the past five years is leaving for the private sector. In an internal memo obtained by ACAMS moneylaundering.com, IRS Criminal Investigation Chief Richard Weber informed staff Tuesday that he would step down at the end of May to accept a position in New York as the "Americas Head of Financial Crime Compliance" at an as-of-yet undisclosed foreign financial institution.
