New York Fines Japanese Bank $315 Million for Report Cover-Up

CORRECTION APPENDED: New York State's financial regulator fined Japan's largest bank for the second time in two years Tuesday for sanctions-related infractions, bringing the institution's total outlay to more than half of a billion dollars. Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) misled state regulators about the extent of violations first outlined in a June 2013 settlement that cost the bank $250 million, the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYSDFS) said.
