OFAC Blacklists Chinese Company in Clampdown on Synthetic Drug Networks

The U.S. Treasury Department blacklisted a Chinese national and his chemical supply company Thursday as part of a broader American crackdown on suppliers of synthetic narcotics and their financial networks. In a statement, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) accused Bo Peng of using Kaikai Technology Co., Ltd. to distribute at least 2,000 kilograms of synthetic cannabinoids and stimulants since 2011. The company, which operated under multiple names, received payments through global money services businesses and banks in addition to accepting bitcoins, OFAC said.
