Szubin Appointed as OFAC Director

The U.S. Treasury Department has named Adam Szubin director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Szubin, who was senior advisor to Stuart Levey, the undersecretary of the Treasury for terrorism and financial intelligence, succeeds Robert Werner, who left in February to head up Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. Barbara Hammerle, who has been acting OFAC director since Werner's departure, returns to her previous job as TFI deputy director.
