The conviction Tuesday of an Afghanistan warlord who used heroin money to supply arms to the Taliban points to the growing nexus between terrorists and organized crime, according to a terrorist financing consultant. Bashir Noorzai, a former Mujahideen warlord and leader of one of Afghanistan's largest tribes, faces life in prison after being convicted in the U.S. Southern District of New York for importing and selling heroin in the United States.
