With Colorado’s Pot Legalization Comes Jump in SARs and Seizures

Drug interdictions, illicit money seizures and suspicious bank wires related to Colorado are all on the rise since the state legalized the recreational use of marijuana, according to U.S. officials. Despite the state's licensing in December of at least 136 businesses to grow and sell cannabis to adults aged 21 or over, federal law still prohibits the practice. In contradiction of the U.S. Controlled Substances Act, Coloradoan officials also permit residents to grow as many six marijuana plants and travel with as much as an ounce of the narcotic.
