White House Executive Order Clears Way for Broadest Sanctions Yet Against North Korea

In a response to cyber-attacks on Sony Pictures Entertainment, President Obama signed an executive order Friday authorizing new sanctions against North Korea. The order, which said that cyber-attacks in November and December violated United Nations resolutions, clears the way for economic restrictions against any organization or individual linked to North Korea's government, including those that provide funding or services to the nation's ruling party.
