Suspected UK Sanctions Breaches Spike Amid Ukraine War

Britain's sanctions enforcement agency received an unprecedented number of reports on potential breaches of U.K. economic and financial embargos from banks and other companies during the first six months of Russia's all-out war against Ukraine. In an annual report Thursday, the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation, or OFSI, disclosed that financial institutions and other filers submitted 147 reports of suspected breaches from April of last year through March of this one, a marginal gain from the 132 total reports they submitted in the prior financial year.
