Now Established, EU’s Future AML Agency Launches Hiring Campaign

The Anti-Money Laundering Authority, a pending, EU-wide AML regulator, is expected to onboard scores of investigators, analysts and other staff starting in December, with hiring for administrative roles already underway, the agency's interim director has disclosed. With less than six months to go before AMLA launches, the EU took a significant step forward on June 26 by bringing the agency into formal, legal existence after having selected Frankfurt, Germany, as the location from which it will issue guidance, monitor national supervision and eventually, directly monitor the bloc's largest banks for AML purposes.
