Denunciations, Death Threats a ‘Disgusting’ Reaction to Organization’s Role in Pakistan, Says Chairman

Fighting against corruption can be noble but arduous work. It can also be dangerous, according to Syed Adil Gilani, the head of Transparency International's Pakistan arm. Gilani believes that Transparency International (TI) is the subject of a smear campaign by Pakistani officials upset over the organization's control of $7.5 billion in U.S. aid funding meant to promote economic growth and anti-corruption efforts.
