FATF Suspends Call for Counteraction on Iran

A global anti-money laundering watchdog on Friday temporarily suspended its call for countermeasures against Iran while keeping the nation on its blacklist of high-risk jurisdictions. In a public statement, the Paris-based Financial Action Task Force (FATF) praised the Islamic republic's adoption of an action plan to improve its efforts to fight money laundering and terrorism financing and to seek technical assistance on meeting the intergovernmental group's compliance standards.
