FinCEN and CFTC Agree to Share Data on Enforcement

The U.S. Treasury Department's financial intelligence unit and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission will share data in an effort to better enforce the Bank Secrecy Act among futures commission merchants. The commission, known as the CFTC, will share information with the department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) on anti-money laundering (AML) examinations and enforcement activities, the agencies said Friday. Under the agreement, the CFTC will examine merchants for Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance, the agencies said.
