For the First Time, UK Authorities Successfully Conclude UWO Case

The U.K. National Crime Agency announced the first successful use of an unexplained wealth order Tuesday, permanently taking £10 million into custody from a businessman suspected of building a property empire with illicit proceeds. Andy Lewis, head of asset denial at the NCA, told reporters in London that investigators had reached a settlement with Mansoor "Manni" Mahmood Hussain, a 40-year-old Leeds resident suspected of involvement with organized crime in northern England, pursuant to which he has agreed to forfeit 45 properties and other assets to the government.
