The U.S. Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has floated a proposal to launch an ombudsman's office to adjudicate disputes between federal regulators and the banks they oversee, Reuters reported. The bureau discussed the idea, which hasn't been formally proposed, during a meeting with representatives of a Bank Secrecy Act compliance industry advisory group.
