Syria Sees Biggest Fall in 2013 Transparency International Index

A Berlin-based advocacy group said Tuesday that Afghanistan, North Korea and Somalia remained the least trusted nations in the world for the second year in a row. In its annual index of how nongovernmental and intergovernmental groups view global corruption, Transparency International (TI) said that more than two-thirds of the 177 nations it reviewed were perceived as more corrupt than not. The organization again ranked Denmark and New Zealand as the cleanest countries, a spot held by the pair since 2007.
