US Casinos Struggling with Bulk Cash, Underground Banking Schemes

U.S. casinos are poorly positioned to prevent illicit brokers from selling U.S. dollars in bulk to high-value gamblers from China, sources told ACAMS moneylaundering.com. In a 152-page assessment, the Drug Enforcement Administration notes a growing tendency among "Asian MLOs," or money laundering organizations, to buy U.S. dollars from Mexican drug traffickers and sell them to Chinese nationals seeking to evade their country's ban on moving more than $50,000 offshore in a single year.
