USAO Whistleblower, Self-Disclosure Expansions Meeting Objectives

Former federal prosecutors told ACAMS moneylaundering.com that they expect more U.S. attorney's offices to launch their own, semi-independent programs for companies to self-report and employees to blow the whistle on illicit finance and other criminal misconduct. Since February 2023, 18 of the Justice Department's 93 USAOs have established voluntary self-disclosure programs, or VSDs, for companies, four have set up mechanisms for whistleblowers to report violations at their employers, and seven have launched both.
