New York State's financial regulator will soon hold a public hearing to determine whether it should license digital currency companies that comply with regulations aimed at money launderers and fraudsters. The New York State Department of Financial Services (NYSDFS) announced in a statement Thursday that the planned hearing will address the potential issuance of a "BitLicense" that would permit corporate recipients to transact with bitcoins and other digital currencies.
