Responding to Critics, SEC Suspends Anti-Terror Disclosure Effort

The Securities and Exchange Commission has suspended its public list of companies with ties to rogue nations after receiving complaints about the list being misleading. The SEC's website outlined companies that have disclosed business dealings in the five countries on the U.S. State Department's state sponsors of terrorism list in their annual reports. The SEC's initiative has been criticized by lawmakers and industry representatives since its debut on June 25.
