Some Online Gambling Companies Still Serving U.S. Customers

Neteller, the Internet gambling payments processor that agreed to forfeit $136 million in a deal with U.S. prosecutors, said Monday that its U.S. customers can begin requesting withdrawals from their accounts. Under a July 18 deferred prosecution agreement with the U.S. Attorneys Office in the Southern District of New York, Isle of Man-based Neteller also agreed to return $94 million to U.S. customers. Under the deal, the company avoids prosecution for allegedly promoting illegal Internet gambling and operating an unlicensed money transmitting business.
