US Freezes Accounts Tied to Online Gambling at Four Banks

The United States has ordered four banks to freeze $33 million tied to companies that dole out winnings to online poker players, according to an Internet gambling advocacy group. The U.S. Justice Department asked Citibank, Wells Fargo, Alliance Bank of Arizona and Goldwater Bank to freeze the accounts of two payment processors, the Washington, D.C.-based Poker Players Alliance said Tuesday.
