White Collar Crime Cases Continue to Drop, Says TRAC

White collar crime prosecutions in August have dropped nearly 20 percent in the past five years and nearly three percent since 2007, according to government data compiled by a Syracuse University organization. Federal authorities handed out a total of 632 white collar crime prosecutions in August, a 1.4 percent decline from July and a 2.9 percent reduction from August 2007, according to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC), which analyzes law enforcement trends.
