Narcotics Trafficking, Corruption Mushrooming in Africa, Afghanistan: UN Report

Africa is fast becoming one of the world's largest hubs for smuggling cocaine, heroin and prescription drugs from South America and Asia into Europe and the United States, according to a United Nations watchdog group. The drug and organized crime controls in parts of Africa, including Nigeria and Ghana, are so lax, they have become a "serious concern" for the United Nations and the region, according to the 2008 Annual Report of the International Narcotics Control Board, released Friday.
