Lawmakers Want IRS to Move Quickly on Digital Currency Guidance

Lawmakers are asking the IRS to quickly finalize guidance on potential tax liabilities of digital money, including the crypto-currency platform Bitcoin. In a Senate Homeland Security hearing Monday on the potential risks of digital currencies, Chairman Tom Carper (D-DE) asked Jennifer Shasky Calvery, director of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, about IRS delays in issuing the expected guidance.
