Congress to Send North Korea Sanctions Bill to White House

The U.S. Senate on Wednesday unanimously approved legislation that would require the White House to determine whether North Korea should be blacklisted under the Patriot Act. Passed by the House of Representatives last month, the North Korea Sanctions Enforcement Act would empower the president to blacklist foreign financial institutions deemed to have transferred funds linked to the country's development of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles, including money used to purchase related equipment and technology.
