Bush Administration Considering Sanctions Against Venezuela, Says Report

The Bush administration may blacklist Venezuela as a state sponsor of terror, a move that could restrict business between the South American country and U.S. companies, according to a news report. Administration officials have called for a preliminary inquiry into the effects sanctions would have on business and other activities, according to a report last week in the Miami Herald, citing a senior U.S. official speaking on the condition of anonymity. Also last week, Republican lawmakers passed a resolution calling on the White House to designate Venezuela a terror sponsor over its support for the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia...
