EU Parliament to Require Public Disclosures of Corporate Owners

European parliamentary members are set to require countries to publish registries naming the beneficial owners of privately-held corporations and trusts as part of a broad overhaul to the EU's anti-money laundering rules. In February 2013, the European Commission introduced two proposals that would toughen the bloc's anti-money laundering (AML) laws and require financial institutions to attach more information to funds transfers.
