OFAC Sanctions Belarus Banks, Other Companies Over Iran Ties

The U.S. Treasury Department Tuesday blacklisted seven individuals and 22 organizations, including two banks in Belarus and one in Iran over their alleged ties to Iran's nuclear program. Speaking at a press conference in Washington, D.C., department officials said that the latest round of sanctions targeted the Persian country's network in Europe and abroad. The prohibitions follow the June 16 blacklisting of 16 companies and individuals said to facilitate shipping and financial transactions for Iran.
