U.K. Law Enforcement Use of SARs Falling Short, Agency Says

United Kingdom law enforcement agencies are not using suspicious activity reports (SARs) to their full potential for identifying and stopping money laundering and terrorist financing, according to a report by the country's top criminal intelligence unit. The use of SAR data by police, prosecutors and other end users "remains patchy with significant areas of weakness" according to the report, issued Wednesday by the U.K.'s Serious Organized Crime Agency (SOCA).
