European Union to Join U.S. Blacklisting of Iran over Nuclear Program

The European Union will join U.S.-led efforts to isolate Iran over its alleged ambitions to build a nuclear weapons program, and may move to freeze Iranian assets, EU and U.S. leaders said Tuesday. The EU will "fully and effectively" implement United Nations economic sanctions aimed at preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, and is ready to supplement current sanctions with "additional measures," according to a statement issued by EU officials.
