Improved SARs Helping in Fight Against Terrorists, Treasury's Levey Says Dec. 12, 2006 -- Suspicious activity reports are helping U.S. regulators battle terrorism as banks increasingly turn in better filings, U.S. Treasury Undersecretary Stuart Levey said. "As people are getting more and more sophisticated in compliance offices in our financial institutions, I think we are getting high-quality suspicious activity reporting and that helps our overall efforts," Levey said in an interview Monday in New York.
