OFAC Blacklisted More than $420 million in Terrorist-Related Assets in 2007

The U.S. Treasury Department identified or blocked $424 million in assets tied to terrorist organizations and states that sponsor them in 2007, according to a government report released Thursday. The total marks a drop in blacklisted assets for the department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the nation's chief enforcer of sanctions lists, which identified or froze $428 million in assets in 2006.
